Bacterial Infection in tonsillitis.

Bacteria are everywhere. Although 99% bacteria are not harmful to humans, there are some type of bacteria that cause infection to the tonsils. The bacterial infection is often misunderstood with viral infection in tonsils.
In India, any of the tonsil infection case it is, when you will go to a doctor he/she will prescribe antibiotics. This leads to drug resistant bacteria development which is a worrying concern overall the world, so go to doctor only in case of bacterial infection (Doc will prescribe an antibiotic anyway, why? well .. old habit die hard.). The bacterial infection can be treated with antibiotics but viral infection is treated by the immune system of body only.
Amoxycillin Trihydrate with Clavulanic Acid which comes in many trade names like Amoxycillin, Moxykind - CV , augmentin etc, is currently the best antibiotic available for bacterial tonsillitis.
Chewing Neem (Azadirachta Indica) leaves help in curing the infection.
Be sure that the throat is clean , mix a pinch of salt and alum in a cup of warm water and gargle with it.
There are many antiseptic solution for gargle in market povidone iodine is an antiseptic comes with trade name Betadin gargle.
